Wicycle it is a non profit arm of Wikaniko Ltd. It is designed to help individuals like you and me recycle unwanted goods, gifts, etc for the benefit of others. You benefit, somebody else benefits, and it´s one less product that has to be manufactured, possibly at detriment to the environment For full details on how Wicycle-It works, click here
Almost anything. See the categories that are
listed. We don’t allow the usual stuff that other auction sites don’t allow.
They’ve done all the homework on this re the laws, Trading Standards etc, so we
saved ourselves a lot of work and copied them
If you want to pay for an item that you have purchased, you do not
necessarily need to have a Paypal account. Simply click on the Paypal button,
and then choose to pay with your credit or debit card
If you are selling items, then you need a Paypal account, or at
least a trusted friend or a relative that has one!
It is easy to set up a Paypal account, and it is an excellent
system for paying for things over the Internet. One of the advantages is that
you can easily get refunds for items you purchase over the Internet, whereas
with credit card payments it is much more difficult. To set up a Paypal Account,
paste the following link into your browser:
Basically, use your noddle. If you wouldn’t want
your partner to be exposed to that kind of item, or you don’t want your kids to
be able to get hold of it, then you know it’s a no no. If your brain tells you
it might be borderline, list it and we’ll check it for you before it goes live
The whole purpose of Wicycle-It is to
help you recycle unwanted items, to benefit yourself, the receiver, and to
prevent unnecessary waste. Therefore, we offer several ways that you can offer
your items. One of those is by swapping items. After all, someone may have
something you would like!
This is simple to do. When listing an item, simply enable the Swap
You do not have to swap your items for something that another
person offers – simply delete their request.
This FREE auction site is for private individuals. It is not for
small businesses or traders. This stance has been brought about by numerous
requests following our surveys, with reference to auction sites such as ebay
being flooded with traders purchasing cheap products from China etc, and far
Eastern companies advertising online.
Neither will we allow any advertising of say one product, with a
link to ebay sites.
Our members will report any such auctions to us
So don’t even think about it, basically, or you will be
As many as you like – but you can only sell one
item (this is for individuals, remember - not traders) Example: you have 2
DVD’s of the Dead Sea Divers Club to auction off. Sell them as 1 item of 2
DVD’s, or list each DVD individually. Up to 3 identical items can be auctioned
off at any one time. It gets so boring when you see pages and pages of the same
time doesn’t it? You won’t find that on Wicycle-It!
Wicycle-It does not charge for either listing items for Auction, or for putting loads photos on etc. We don’t even charge when you sell an item! How wonderful. Compare that to the other auction sites, and you will instantly see the huge advantage that you get for recycling your items.
You may remain a free member for as long as you like. However, we strongly suggest that you become a Verified Seller. This shows buyers that you are a reputable person.
It costs just £3.99 every 60 days, for as long as you want to remain a Verified Seller
That’s about 6pence a day
The other side of the coin is that it shows you are keen to help the environment, because everyone knows that any fees collected from you as a Verified Seller goes towards our Ten Thousand Tree planting campaign on the main site.
You get your goods recycled. You make a profit. The buyer gets the item at a cracking price because you don’t have to cover loads of listing or selling fees etc. The product sale has prevented another item from being needlessly manufactured, thereby helping the environment. And you are getting trees planted in your honour. This helps our Ten Thousand Trees campaign. Excellent, don’t you think?
By the way – become a Verified Seller, and by the end of 12 months you would have paid to offset your own carbon footprint (the average person, non air travel). Even better!
Absolutely nothing. Zilch. Zero. Nada. You don’t
pay anything to us for selling items either! Paypal charge you a small fee if
your buyer pays for the goods via Paypal. Ebay charge you around 10% for
selling an item. We charge you nothing. Isn’t that rather good?
You can, but we like to have fun too! If you place a last minute bid to steal the auction from under everyone’s noses, a funny thing happens. The auction ending time is increased by 5 minutes….just like the auctioneer waits until he knows that nobody is interested in bidding any more, so do we. This ensures the auction is fair, and the seller gets a fair price for their item
Here's another way of getting a picture, if it is a DVD or book that you are selling. Simply type the name into Google images, and choose the picture of the book or DVD that relates to the one you are auctioning. Put this fact into your description so that buyers know the picture is from Google, not your actual item
Your auction really needs pictures! As soon as you get thre hang of them, you will want to list dozens of unwanted items for recycling!
There is a catch, but if you are a smart cookie, you’ll pay nothing at all…..
Every time you go to sel,l an item, and annoying page pops up asking you to either verify yourself as a seller or skip verification. If you become a verified seller, we'll collect 3.99 by Paypal, which is used to plant a tree in yojur honour. Then, every 60 days thereafter, we’ll collect another £3.99. This is a tiny fee for using this facility.
The easy way to explain it is this: You want to sell lots of items.
You register for FREE
You list as many items as you want for FREE
You sell for FREE
If you want people to trust you, then you should become a verified seller. This appears next to your name whenver someone checks out your auction items
Or simply continue listing your items for free. We don't mind - but the planet could sure use your help....
An excellent courier service to use for parcels (under 10kg) is www.collectplus.co.uk This
is a service whereby you take the parcel to a local collection point,
and it gets delivered to a collection point in our near the recipients
local area. This is especially handy if the person doesn’t want to wait
in to receive the parcel. They can go any time and get it from the
collection point. The service is excellent and simple to use
Easy peasy. On your site there is a button
called ‘SHARE’. Do your bit by putting posts on your blogs, your Twitter etc, in
return for us helping you sell your unwanted items. That will pay us back a
thousand fold, because we’ll get lots and lots of trees planted!
Life is too short to argue. However, sometimes things do go wrong,
even if they start out with the best intentions.
We do not enter into disputes, except as a very last resort. All
transactions will be done via Paypal who have an excellent dispute resolution
service. And as they charge you fees for the transactions, you should use their
services. That’s what you pay for….
